Welcome to the Boca Glades Children’s Choir area!

Our Children’s Choirs are divided into two groups. Preschoolers and 1st through 5th graders.

Preschool Choir news from Dr. Georgiene Morgan
This year, Little Praisers will continue to learn about praising God. Each week we will focus on a verse from the Psalms. We will sing, play instruments, do crafts and have fun praising the Lord. We welcome your preschooler and any parents who would like to serve. Oops, I forgot to say that we serve snacks. My preschoolers would not let Miss Georgiene forget to serve snacks. So join us for musical fun and may we never forget “How wonderful it is to sing praises to our God.” Psalm 147:1

Children’s Choir news from Celia Huntsman
From the time a baby is born, the mother begins singing to her new child. Music is such an important part of a child’s life. Studies have shown that children who have music incorporated into their lives do better in school and other activities; and it even affects how the brain works.

Boca Glades has a way to help incorporate music into your young child’s life; it is through our children’s choirs. Beginning in preschool and going through 5th grade, children are invited to come on Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 pm and be a part of the choirs. Children are taught music theory through fun and innovative activities. They learn songs that have godly, biblical content. (They even sing in “big church” once every few weeks, to teach them to minister through using their talents.) The “Minor Tones” (grades 1st through 5th) are taught hymns in order to help them learn biblical doctrine through the form of music.

Although the children are being taught songs, theory and presentation of music, it is all done in a way that the children have a good time. Rewards are given throughout the year to every child and two children are chosen at the end of each year for special recognition for their hard work and good behavior.
